As a result, document centralization solutions are drawing attention as a "data asset and hub" for AI utilization, going beyond document leak prevention.
CTO Mr. Kang explained, "The first challenge companies encounter when adopting AI is that their data isn't in a state AI can use," adding, "Most data is unstructured like PDFs, emails, presentations scattered across personal PCs and departmental folders, so there's no consistent data for AI to reference."
"Document centralization solves exactly this problem. The moment you gather scattered documents into one place, that repository becomes both an object of security control and a trustworthy, single knowledge hub for AI to reference. 'Leak prevention' and a 'foundation for AI utilization' are satisfied simultaneously within a single structure."
The technological direction of the document security industry can be broadly categorized into five areas: ① RAG-based enterprise knowledge search, ② Permission-Aware Retrieval, ③ on-premises sLLM / Private AI, ④ refinement and assetization of unstructured data, and ⑤ data governance, including sensitive-information identification, masking, and DSPM. “Although vendors may differ in their entry points, they are all moving toward the same objective: enabling AI to utilize distributed documents while maintaining permissions and governance,” Kang explained. “Cyberdigm is also focused on making document centralization the foundation for AI utilization within this broader industry trend.”

Cyberdigm’s "AI Assistant," launched in 2025, is a solution that integrates AI within document centralization environment. Going beyond simple keyword search, its core lies in providing semantic search that understands document structure and context to find relevant contents based on RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) technology, along with key-information summarization and conversational Q&A, all while keeping existing security policies and permission systems intact.
CTO Kang explained, "Corporate documents are a mix of old files, multiple versions, and sensitive materials, so finding the exact information you need was difficult in itself," adding, “Because processing entire document repositories with AI presents both cost and performance limitations, we adopted an approach that first defines document scopes according to business objectives. AI then analyzes document structure and context within those defined scopes to perform searches more effectively.”
Organizations that already have their own AI models can connect them via an Open Interface, allowing them to use the solution without redundant investment. In 2026, Cyberdigm plans to expand the AI Assistant with additional capabilities, including automated document classification, document structure-based similar document search, and automatic generation of summary reports based on document content. “Documents owned by companies and public institutions contain many different types of data,” Kang said. “They range from legacy documents to files containing sensitive information. Because these datasets are largely unstructured, finding exactly the information users need has always been extremely difficult. Drawing on 28 years of expertise focused on document security, Cyberdigm has developed the capability not only to classify and organize these documents, but also to enable their secure and effective utilization.”
2026: A Year of Growth as Cyberdigm Expands into Comprehensive Data Security
Document centralization solutions are also essential technology amid the recent surge in personal-data breach incidents. The premise that cyberattacks can be blocked 100% perfectly has already collapsed, and "Assume Breach", designing on the premise that you will be penetrated, has become the default.
CTO Kang explained here that the value of document centralization becomes clear. First, gathering documents into one place via centralization reduces the attack surface compared with having documents scattered individually across every employee's PC. Furthermore, through encryption and permission settings, even if data is leaked in the worst case, it cannot be opened, protecting critical information. Visibility can also be secured through access logs and anomalous-behavior monitoring. Finally, in the event of an incident, containment is possible through permission revocation, tracing, and blocking the scope of impact.
CTO Kang noted, "Of course, the idea that centralization solves everything is also dangerous," explaining, "Because the central repository itself becomes a high-value target, encryption, key management, and permission governance must necessarily accompany it, and security is only complete when it works together with other security controls such as strengthened authentication and patch management."
He also emphasized, "In the past, document centralization required dedicated servers and staff, creating a high barrier to entry for small and medium-sized businesses. But through 'cloudium,' Cyberdigm has made it possible to get started on a subscription basis without a separate server or administrator." He added, "Now is the time for SMBs, too, to think beyond security about how to leverage their data, and we will support them in establishing the underlying document-management framework without burden."
Meanwhile, Cyberdigm plans to make 2026 the year it accelerates expanded security coverage, an AI-advancement strategy, and global expansion, starting with localization in Japan.
